CME Exchange to Debut XRP Futures on May 19, Fueling ETF Speculation

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is preparing to launch cash-settled XRP futures contracts on May 19, subject to regulatory approval. This marks XRP’s first appearance on a major traditional finance platform, offering both micro (2,500 XRP) and standard (50,000 XRP) contract sizes. Pricing will be based on CME’s XRP-Dollar Reference Rate, updated daily at 4 p.m. London time.

Giovanni Vicioso, CME’s Global Head of Crypto Products, attributed the launch to rising institutional demand. The move has sparked speculation about potential XRP ETF filings, following the precedent set by Bitcoin and Ethereum products.
